At an early age I was attracted to vibrant colours, drawing, colouring and making my own jewelry. I was fortunate to be surrounded by family who were creative and artists themselves, encouraging me to follow my passion.

My oil paintings are primarily vibrant florals, images I capture myself to later project onto my canvas.  The process of developing my work begins with my image and finding a composition that allows the subject to pop off of the canvas. Each vivid colour is layered one at a time filling in the blank space and later applying highlights and shadows for detail.  Sometime blending is an essential technique I use to create a smooth transition between tones for a three dimensional and harmonious effect.

Although I admire and strive to learn more styles, realism is what I have always enjoyed practicing.  Capturing nature’s beauty in gardens, parks and greenhouses I find beautiful entities to share with the world.

My work is influenced by the memories I have gardening and exploring nature with my grandparents, a couple who admired nature and worked hard to keep it safe and magnificent. When I see nature creations I see more than just a flower, I see a million different living colours, shapes and lines and I’m fascinated by their organic growth.  These particles seize an emotion in me wanting to display each special moment in time onto my canvas; to make that moment come alive with my very own hands, allowing its image to live on forever.

Life is made up of endless possibilities.  With my devotion and attention to detail I hope to convey the same excitement I feel when in creation to anyone viewing my work.
